Around 3,000 academic workers at York University, including contract faculty, teaching and graduate assistants, and part time librarians and archivists, initiated a strike after negotiations between their union, CUPE 3903, and the university failed. They have been unable to produce a new collective agreement. The strike began at midnight on Monday 26th. For more information about the strike and negotiations please visit CUPE 3903 and York University’s Community Updates.
