Art on my Mind 2022 workshop series
AGYU is excited to be joining forces with the Black Creek Community Farm to offer the Art on My Mind 2022 workshop series. Geared towards youth aged 15 to 24 years old, Art on My Mind 2022 includes Live Performance workshops facilitated by Hip Hop powerhouse Dynesti (Mondays and Wednesdays, July 4 – 20), Songwriting and Vocal Production workshops with rising R&B and Soul singer Kibra (Tuesdays and Thursdays, July 5 – 21) and Mural Painting workshops with acclaimed visual artists Curtia Wright and Ray Vidal. (weekdays, July 25 – August 2). This program offers an invaluable opportunity to get inspiration and guidance from a team of artists who are making waves in Toronto’s vibrant art scene.
Participants will take their performance to the next level by developing dynamic stage presence; writing meaningful lyrics; and honing their vocal production skills. In addition to receiving personalized performance coaching from experienced artists, selected participants will also have a paid opportunity to rehearse and perform with a live band at our end of program showcase celebrating the Black Creek Community Farm’s 10 year anniversary on July 23, 2022. The program also includes mural painting workshops led by Wright and Vidal. Working alongside accomplished muralists, participants will gain hands on experience painting a shipping container that will be transformed into a Black Creek Community Farm landmark.
